Til sammen var han ansatt i kommunen i over 40 år.<br /> <br /> == Familie ==<br /> Johan Colbjørnsen Roshauw var sønn av kemner i Christiania [[Annar Elisar Roshauw]] (1823-1895) og Agnes Wanda, født Raabe (1827-1923).  Han ble gift i 1878 med Hilda Marie Bolette Kolstad (1854-1936).<br /> <br /> == Liv og virke ==<br /> Johan Colbjørnsen Roshauw tok examen artium i 1869 og avgangseksamen ved [[Chalmersska slöjdskolan|Chalmerska institut]] i Göteborg i 1876. Han begynte samme år som ingeniørassistent ved hovedkontoret til Christiania brann- og ingeniørvesen. I 1881 gikk han over han til kommunenes vegvesen. Der var han 1. ingeniørassistent til 1890, da han en kortere periode var avdelingssjef for brannvesenet. <br /> <br /> I 1893 ble Roshauw ansatt som avdelingssjef for hovedstadens vei-, broleggings-, og beplantningsvesen. Tittelen ble senere forandret til overingeniør ved vegvesenet, med tittelen &#039;&#039;vegsjef&#039;&#039; fra 1917. Han satt i stillingen til han gikk av med pensjon i 1922.<br /> <br /> I en årrekke var Roshaw også bestyrer for den tekniske aftenskolen i Kristiania (Vaterland).
