Opprinnelig skal den ha tilhørt gården Grimenes, men har også ligget under Gitmark en periode. Plassen ligger på vestre bredd av Østre Grimevann. <br /> <br /> === 1800-tallet ===<br /> Langodden ble antagelig bosatt ca. 1848.<br /> <br /> Hjuringen (gjeteren) Ola &quot;Silkeband&quot; Nippelia fra Vigmostad flyttet på slutten av 1800-tallet sammen med Gusta fra Nesset og bosatte seg på Langodden (LP tirsdag 24. desember 1991). Husmannsplassen Nesset lå ved samme bredd av Grimevannet, noe sør for Langodden. <br /> <br /> === 1900-tallet ===<br /> Ola døde først, og den siste beboeren, Gusta Langodden, flyttet i 1920. Langodden ble solgt til Hans Vennesland, men samme år var det tørkesommer og huset brant ned. Etter dette ble Langodden igjen en del av gården Grimenes. (LP tirsdag 24. desember 1991)<br /> <br /> I september 1964 ble det funnet en granat i strandsteinene ved Langodden. Tyskerne hadde bedrevet skyteøvelser i 1942-43 mot mål i Grimevannet fra Prestegården og Froholt.
