Maura ligger ved foten av [[Nordåsen (Nannestad)|Nordåsen]], lengst nord i [[Nannestad]] og 12 km nordvest for [[Oslo Lufthavn Gardermoen]]. Etter at flyplassen åpna i 1998, har Maura hatt sterk befolkningsvekst. I tettstedet ligger [[Maura skole]], som skoleåret 2018/19 hadde 509 elever.<br />
