Seilas ble etablert i 1906, og er et av verdens eldste båtblader. Bladet har et opplag på ca. 15 000. Båtguiden ble utgitt første gang i 1978, og er en årlig oversikt over fritidsbåter på det norske markedet, med opplagt på 20 000 eksemplarer. I 1990-årene overtok selskapet bladet Båtliv, som i dag har et opplag på ca. 20 000.<br /> <br /> Norsk Maritimt Forlag eies av familien Nissen-Lie på Nesøya, og virksomheten har sitt utspring i medieselskapet Nissen-Lie Consult som ble etablert av Henrich Nissen-Lie i 1960.
