Siden økte tallet til 52 beboere, så det ble trangt om plassen.<br /> <br /> Den gamle gården gjorde god nytte, men ble etter hvert for liten og uhensiktsmessig. <br /> <br /> Et nytt pleiehjem var nødvendig. Det ble da oppført et nytt bygg mellom Huseby og [[Trondheimsveien (Kjeller)|Trondheimsveien]]. Kommunen sto selv for oppførelsen, med byggmester Oluf Nordby som byggeleder. Arkitekt [[Olav Olson]] leverte tegninger og hadde tilsynet med oppføringen. Pleiehjemmet ble innviet 30. mars [[1924]]. <br /> <br /> Det nye pleiehjemmet var dimensjonert til å motta 18 barn og 36 voksne, og ble betegnet som et stort pleiehjem.
