1930,

Carl G. O. Hanson

Conrad Christianson, 6035

care of Minneapolis Tidende

Box 500 Steilacoom, Wash.

307 South Six Street

Minneapolis, Minn.

Dear Mr. Hanson,

My application for parole has been passed by the local Board

and will be forwarded to Washington for the consideration of the Parole

Board there. Before it can be sent I must have someone act as my best friend

and secure a job of some kind. I expected to secure a job in California but

have not been able to do so.

I have been away from home so long I have lost contact with

most of my friends which makes it very hard for me to select some one who

will act as my best friend. I know you realize how badly my family needs

me, and thought you would be willing to get me a best friend and some kind

of a job. Since I have been working at steamfitting, plumbing and blacksmithing

I feel sure I can give satisfaction in work of this kind. I prefer Steam-

fitting, or Plumbing, but will do anything as I am strong and in fine health.

I wish you would get in touch with Mrs. Christianson who may be able

to help in selecting someone. As you know she is not at all well and cannot

do very much. My one desire is to carry a dinner pail, so I can support my

family.

I am having Mr.Hopkins Parole Officer forward the necessary papers

and of course the sooner I can get a best friend the quicker I can get my

application before the Board in Washington. Thanking you most kindly for

your many favors, I am

Yours very truly

Conrad Christianson
