LEGATION OF THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Oslo, January 14, 1926.
Mr. C. G. O. Hanson,
"Minneapolis Tidende
Minneapolis, Minnesota.
My dear Friend:
In a recent issue of "Tidende there was an
editorial referring to a speech which Mr. Mowinckel made on
his visit to Minneapolis in 1912. I meant to hand
my copy to Mr. Mowinckel, but it seems to have been
mislaid and I would be very grateful to you if you could
supply me with an extra number. My recollection is that
the editorial appeared in the issue of December 3rd.
You will undoubtedly be sorry to hear that
Director Maartman, brother of Mrs. Ringnes, died a few
days ago. I met him at a family dinner party given at
the Ringnes' home on December 27th. He then seemed
perfectly well and was as cheerful and entertaining as usual.
On returning to his home that night he had an acute case of
indigestion, which proved too much of a strain on his weak
heart. He passed away suddenly two or three days later.
I meet the Ringneses quite often and they always
inquire about you. Mr. Ringnes asked me the other day if
your mother is still living.
Kindly remember me to Mr. Guldbrandsen and
members of the "Tidende staff.
