Living in Isrenna, I was doing a little research on the ice company. It seems the ice facility at the end of the pier burned down on 28. August 1963: Page 1 of the 29. August "Tromsø" https://urn.nb.no/URN:NBN:no-nb_digavis_tromso_null_null_19630829_66_198_1
I am not sure about the ice warehouse on shore, which is visible, roofless (maybe it always was?) in 1956 aerial photography, but has become houses in 1968 imagery.
It would be interesting to find more photos of the ice facilities from earlier! The slide between Rundvannet and Langvannet, the slide down to the shore, the tramway, etc. Patrick A'Hearn (Tromsøv) (diskusjon) 24. apr. 2026 kl. 15:12 (UTC)
