CROOKSTON, MINNESOTA

December 11, 1926

Mr. Carl Hanson,

Minneapolis Tidende

Minneapolis, Minn.

Dear Mr. Hanson:

On Friday Feb. 11, the Northwestern

Minnesota Singers' Association will give a program

as a part of the Northwest School Farmers' Week

and Women's meetings. This Association includes

about 150 men's voices under the leadership of Mr.

T. W. Thorson, Fertile.

In the past, we have had someone from

Minneapolis or St. Paul, who is intensely interested

in music, come to Crookston to give a talk before

the women's meeting in the afternoon and also at

the informal supper tendered the singers by the

Winter Shows organization. This person has also

written a review of the event which has been pub¬

lished either in the Minneapolis Journal or Tribune.

We wish to invite you to come to

Crookston on Feb. 11 of next year. Besides your

traveling expenses, we shall be glad to pay an

honorarium of $25.00. The afternoon talk can be

brief, probably twenty minutes. The women are

very interested in having a musical critic discuss

the art of music and development that is taking

place.

It would be fine to have the critical

review appear in both the Tribune and the Journal,

as well as in your own paper. After I hear from

you relative to coming, I would take the matter

up with Mr. Geo. H. Adams of the Journal and some

one connected with the Tribune. In the past, the

papers have been very glad to publish a signed

review.

Dr. Victor Nilson came two years ago

and Mr. James Davies has also been here.

I expecto be at the Andrews Hotel on

Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Sincerely,

C.G Selvig

President
