The tidende,

Minneapolis.

Dear Sir:

The Sears, Roebuck and Company building is to be

dedicated Thursday morning, March 1 at nine o'clock.

You will agree with me that this dedication marks an

epoch in the development of the Northwest and of Minneapolis,

its trade center. Certainly, it will be long remembered as

one of the outstanding events of the Diamond Jubile Year, the

75th anniversary of the naming of Minneapolis.

It is fitting that this addition to the city be publicly

recognized. I hope that you as Editor of the Tidende will find

it possible to be present to meet officials of Sears, Roebuck

and Company, who will be here for the dedication, and extend to

them the hand of welcome. The actual ceremonies will las no longer than a half

hour. To insure that everything runs on schedule, please meet

me at the Tower Entrance of the building on Elliot Avenue at

eight-thirty o'clock, Thursday morning, as a short inspection

trip of the building is planned ahead of the actual ceremonies.

I hope that you may be able to personally attend, but in

case you are unable to do so, please advise me of the name of the

person who will serve in your place.
