My ever dear Theodore
How happy was I the other day
to receive a letter from you and particularly to learn
that you were better af your cold, I am also truely
glad to har that you concret yourself with good
behaviour, there is nothing in the world my beloved
Theodore that can rejoice the heart af a fond
parent more then to hear that their children
are in the right path of happiness which alone
badette to honorand filecity bot in thistori-
and that whiche os to come. Mythoughts ar-
almest alans with you, My pragers are often
sent to haven om your betalt, and so much

befor you can be in a situation to act for yourself,
and the tediousness af study, also the worst af all
the loss af your indearing society which weighs not
a little with us, - have you realy an indiationet,

your brother. It is not always Money that
makes a mans fortune in the world, perhaps it
is more fortunate not to be in the possesion
of it, because I beleive mist depend on
our good conduct to recommend us, and our
economy to set us on equal balance with our fellow
sitizens - I have thought long on this subject , but darest
not utter my thoughts, fully assured that your father
understands how to act for you much hetter han meg
let not therefor som Mothers love for son have
any influance er determine sour intentions for
your future career in life, be friendly and explicit with your
father who loves you sincerely and will do every-
thing in his power for you - It will be a lofs for
