Mr. Carl G. O. Hansen,
My dear Mr. Hansen:
I beg to thank you for your kind letter of
the 29th ultimo, relative to your recent visit to Norway
and to your return to Minneapolis. I assure you that
your friendly sentiments are cordially reciprocated. I
enjoyed your visit in Christiania very much and only regret
that it was so brief. The chorus did good missionary work
in Norway and you have every reason to feel proud of the
impression you left here. I have heard nothing but the
most complimentary comment on the concerts given as well
as respecting the individual members composing the chorus.
It has been a very busy summer for me and I
still have a great many American visitors calling daily.
I attended the celebration held in Valdres
on the 29th of July and found it most interesting and
edifying. You will undoubtedly publish something about
this celebration, and thinking that you may want to make
use of my brief speech on the occasion I enclose a copy.
I have not furnished the papers here with a copy, feeling
that if my remarks were to be published I would prefer to
have them appear in "Tidende".
I have conveyed your greetings to my daughter and
to my son-in-law, who wish to be remembered to you.
Kindly remember me to Mr. Gulbransen, Mr. Sørensen,
your brother, Mr. Bjorhus, and other mutual friends.
